  • Cured in place relining in most pipe diameters – Designated by Water Research Centre (Wrc) as Structural Type II
  • Unrivalled reputation in the UK for pipeline renovation of the highest quality
  • 100's of kilometres of linings successfully installed
  • Ambient cure resins available for small diameter installations
  • Ka-Te robotic lateral re-opening

Overview

The Premier-Pipe sewer renovation system is a C.I.P.P. (Cured in Place Pipe) process, which is installed without the need for costly and disruptive excavation.

Premier-Pipe liners are individually manufactured to suit the dimensions of the pipes to be lined, the lining thickness being determined by individual design requirements. The lining tube is made of polyester felt with an outer coating of polyurethane, which is impregnated thoroughly with a liquid resin chosen to suit the working environment of the pipe.

Once impregnated with resin the Premier-Pipe is installed using the inversion method described below.

Immediately prior to the installation of the lining, the host pipeline is cleaned using one of OnSite's combination jet/vacuum units (visit Sewer Cleaning for more details) and also inspected using a pan and tilt CCTV camera. This ensures the pipeline is free of silt, debris, tree roots or intrusions, which could adversely affect the lining installation. Also at this stage, all incoming lateral connections are accurately plotted so that they can be robotically reopened on completion of the lining process.

The lead end of the Premier-Pipe is turned inside out for a predetermined length and clamped to a collar over the installation manhole. Water is then introduced into the turned back section creating a head of pressure causing the lining to continue turning inside out along the defective pipe. The constant addition of water maintains the head, which in turn keeps the lining inverting as well as ensuring it is held firmly against the internal surface of the host pipe.

When the installation is complete, the water in the lining is circulated through a mobile water boiler to gradually raise its temperature to achieve a controlled cure of the resin. Once cured, the structural Premier-Pipe lining ends are cut and trimmed and any laterals that have been covered over during the process are re-opened using our Ka-Te robotic lateral cutter. Re-opened laterals are then inspected using a pan and tilt CCTV camera to ensure they have been re-opened cleanly and will not cause rags to collect at the point where the lateral joins the newly lined sewer.

For small diameter CIPP installations, the lining is installed using an ambient cure resin, which cures at ambient temperatures so that a bulky mobile boiler is not required. In this case the lining is winched into the pipe through existing manholes and a removable inner hose is inverted through the lining using a small head of water. This head inflates the lining to fit tightly against the defective pipe until it cures…usually within 2 to 4 hours. Once curing is complete, the inner hose is removed and the liner ends are trimmed.

Premier-Pipe linings are designed in accordance with the procedures laid down in the Sewerage Rehabilitation Manual issued by the Water Research Centre and are defined as Structural Type II Linings.

Relining Units

Our Relining vehicles are purpose built and are of recent manufacture thus ensuring reliability of service to our clients. All onboard equipment is powered by vehicle mounted generators. Other than the relining equipment, every unit carries a wide range of essential Health & Safety equipment for safe confined space entry. Visit Health and Safety for more details.

Team Training

OnSite provides a comprehensive package of training for all site personnel. Visit Training for more details.

Quality Assurance

A CCTV inspection is undertaken of every sewer both prior to and immediately after relining to assure the client that the liner has been correctly installed and is free of any defects.
