Big milestone prompts a look at OnSite's long history
In June 2010, OnSite's David Wedgbury submitted a quotation for a Culvert Inspection job. This was OnSite's 20,000th quotation since we started business in 1977 and prompted the obvious question - what was the first?
There are a few members of staff at OnSite with long memories, so a little investigation and a few great anecdotes later, we can confirm that Insight Surveys - as we were then known - were contracted to carry out a CCTV inspection on the high street in Bromyard, Herefordshire.
According to Peter Barker, one of Insight's founders, the price was "competitive". Nothing's changed there then!
Rumours about the use of a hydrant causing a sudden drop in water pressure in the surrounding area, and Insight's pioneering CCTV crew being castigated by a gaggle of angry housewives, are purely speculative and OnSite could not possibly comment.
